Hartford Man Still Recovering from North End Drive-by Shooting

HARTFORD —  Hartford police is still investigating a drive-by shooting in the North End late Tuesday.

HPD identify the victim as a man in his 20s, who was shot in the lower back outside Willy’s Super Deli, 154 Mather St.

The victim is reportedly still recovering at St. Francis Hospital and Medical Center.

Police reveal a store surveillance video that shows a black sedan traveling west on Mather Street with someone firing shots at a crowd.

Police found four 45-caliber shell casings nearby and is asking witnesses to report any information they have.

Police Arrest Escaped Suspect For Hartford Shooting

HARTFORD — It took them nine years, but police  finally arrested a suspect in a Lenox Street shooting.

Police arrested Marvin Gray, 36,  formerly of 282 Laurel St. in Hartford. Gray was wanted on attempted murder warrant for an incident that occurred on April 2, 2001.

Gray (seen in photo) eluded the warrant until earlier this week.

On Tuesday, Dec. 21, 2010, Hartford Police Detectives responded to the Dade County Florida Detention Center and transported Gray back to Connecticut.  Gray faces charges of criminal attempt to commit murder, first degree assault, first degree reckless endangerment, carrying a pistol without a permit for his involvement in the April 2, 2001 Lenox Street shooting incident.

According to police report, about 4:45 p.m. on April 2, 2001, Hartford police responded to St. Francis Hospital on a report of a person who was shot.  Upon arrival, officers learned that the 23-year-old man was shot in the wrist, forearm and leg while in the area of 22 Lenox St.

The victim reported that while parked in front of 22 Lenox St., a vehicle being operated by a black female with a black male passenger pulled along side him.  The black male then fired multiple rounds at the victim and sped away.

A witness transported the victim to Saint Francis Hospital.  The victim underwent surgery and was treated and released.

Police Identify Enfield Street Homicide Victim

HARTFORD — City police on Thursday identify the victim of a fatal shooting on Enfield Street.

The victim, Eric Kerr, 29, of 13 Enfield St., was shot outside his home, police said.

Police said Kerr’s shooter is a tall, black man wearing dark clothing and was seen running from the scene.

The investigation continues.

HPD Investigates Park Street Homicide

HARTFORD — A local man died this weekend  after city Police responded to shots fired at Park and Broad streets.

Police said that on March 27 at about  4:45 a.m.,  they  found  Cesar Torres, 25, of 250 Homestead Ave., Hartford, suffering from a gunshot wound. 

Emergency Services Personnel responded and transported  Torres to Hartford Hospital for treatment.  He succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at 3:04 am., police said.

The Hartford Police Department’s Major Crimes and Crimes Scene Divisions responded to the scene and are investigating the incident.

Man Shot in Back

HARTFORD – – A man is still in critical condition after he was shot at 18 Bedford St. on Sunday, police said.

Responding to a call about a shooting at 10: 51 p.m., officers found the victim in a bedroom of a first-floor apartment. The man had a  a single gunshot wound in his back, police said.
The man was taken to an area hospital.
