Hartford Police Seek Suspect in Bank Robbery

HARTFORD — Hartford Police are still investigating a bank robbery that occurred Tuesday on Main Street in South Downtown Hartford.

At about 12: 35 p.m. on Tuesday, the suspect entered the Hartford Municipal Employee Federal Credit Union Bank at 523 Main St and ordered two tellers to “get back.”

The suspect then checked all the register drawers from behind the counter, opened one and stole $1,830 in cash, police said.

He then left the bank and ran northward on Main Street.

Police described the suspect as a 5′ 8″ black, male in his 40s. He was wearing a gray knit cap with thin light colored stripe around it and gray hoody with a 1972 on the sleeve and black patches on elbows,  black pants, black shoes and a  black ski mask with sunglasses.

City Police Searching For Wachovia Bank Robber

HARTFORD — City police is asking for help to locate a bank robber who on Tuesday stole an undisclosed amount of money from a Wachovia Bank on Main Street in downtown, police said.

Police  are looking for a white male a white male described as being approximately 5’9” tall, 180 lbs, with a white ball cap, sun glasses,and a black t-shirt.

The suspect was caught on camera during the Oct. 26 robbery at 866 Main Street on an active bank robbery (See photos below).

According to a police statement, the suspect entered the bank at about 2:50 p.m. and demanded money from one of the tellers, police said. The suspect then warned the teller that he was armed with a firearm.  After robbing the teller of an undisclosed amount of money, the suspect walked out the bank through the mall entrance.

Bank Robber Arrested While Shaving

HARTFORD — A Hartford man was arrested while shaving after he robbed a bank on New Park Ave.

Police arrested Macarthur Paulin, 46, of 152 Vine St., Hartford as he was getting a shave at  “The Player’s Barbershop”  at 64 New Park Ave., not far from the People’s bank at 150 New Park Ave., which he robbed earlier.

Paulin was arrested and charged with first degree robbery.

Police said that on Jan. 13 at approximately 5:37 p.m., officers responded to the Peoples United Bank on New Park Ave. after they received a a report of an active bank robbery.

Witnesses reported that a black male with facial hair wearing a black jacket with an orange liner and fur around the hood, a knit cap and jeans had entered the bank.

The suspect showed a demand note threatening he had a firearm and fled the scene after robbing the bank of a large amount of money, police said.

Witnesses also provided the direction the suspect fled.

Responding officers established a perimeter and located a male party matching the suspect’s description.  A witness identified Paulin while he was getting a shave.

Police said they recovered Paulin money totaling almost $5,000.00 and the demand note.

Paulin has a $500,000.

Man Robs Wachovia Bank, Escapes

HARTFORD — Hartford police are still investigating a robbery that happened earlier today in Wachovia Bank downtown Hartford.

At 9:23 a.m., Hartford Police Officers responded to the Wachovia Bank at 10 State Street while the robbery was in progress.

Witnesses reported that a dark skinned black male, approximately 6’0” tall wearing a black 3/4 length Northface Jacket with a fur-trimmed hoodie, and black acid washed jeans entered the bank, displayed a silver firearm and handed the teller a note demanding money. After retrieving an undetermined amount of money, the suspect walked out of the bank toward the Market Street garage, police said.

No one was injured during the incident, police said.
