Hartford Police Arrest Three for Kidnapping


HARTFORD — Three Hartford women were arrested Tuesday for kidnapping and other charges after police obtained a video of a woman severely beaten on Rowe Street.

Ada Marrero, 30, of Hamilton Street, Hartford; Waleska Bones, 33, of Hartford and Jacqueline Davila, 38, of Carpenter Street, Hartford were arrested and charged with second degree kidnapping, second degree assault and  cruelty to persons.

Police said the video they obtained shows a woman who was severely beaten and stripped by three females during the day on Rowe Avenue.

Several onlookers who observed the incident encouraged the suspends while they use cell phones to record the incident that occurred in August 2017.

Police said the victim was taken to Rowe Avenue against her will and the incident was related to narcotics.

Bond was set for $250,000.

Hartford Police Arrest Robbery Suspects


HARTFORD — City police arrested three men for allegedly robbing Bo Jewelry Store on Sisson Avenue.

The three men were Marcelino Santana, 27, of  50 Ruby Dr. in Manchester, Cecil Grant , 18, of 502 Mary Sheppard’s Pl. in Hartford and Devon Kempson, 24, of 502 Mary Sheppard’s Pl., also in Hartford.

Santana and Grant were charged with conspiracy to commit first degree robbery, police said. And Kempson was arrested and charged with first degree robbery and conspiracy to commit robbery, criminal use of a firearm and carrying a pistol without a permit.

Police had this story:

On Dec. 30, at  11:26 am, officers responded to 257 Sisson Ave., the Bo’s Jewelry Store, on a report of an armed robbery after learning that masked and gloved suspects had entered the store.

According to police report, one suspect displayed a firearm. The suspects then robbed the store of thousands of dollars worth of jewelry and then fled. None of the persons inside the store were seriously physically injured.

Officers soon gathered intelligence about the kind of  suspects’s get away car and then traced Santana to his home in Manchester.

Police said they found some of the stolen jewelry in Santana’s home. After obtaining a consent to search the home, detectives recovered additional stolen jewelry and a Remington Rifle.  Santana was secured and taken into custody without incident.

On Dec. 20, Hartford Police Patrol Officers Rob Fogg and Clide Patino observed Cecil Grant and his vehicle in the area of Albany Avenue and Main Street and conducted a motor vehicle stop. Police took Grant into custody. Some of the stolen jewelry was also located inside this vehicle, police said.

Later that day, police also found Kempson and his vehicle, which was hidden in the parking lot of 1213 Main Street.  He was secured and taken into custody.

Suspected Pope Park Child Molester Arrested


HARTFORD — A local man was arrested yesterday and charged for allegedly molesting a 10-year-old boy in Pope Park.

The suspect, Brian Wright, of 70 Gillett St., Apartment C-10, was charged with first degree criminal attempt at kidnapping, first degree of unlawful restraint, risk of injury to a minor, third degree sexual assault, first degree criminal attempt at sexual assault. He is scheduled for arraingment in Hartford Superior Court on July 29.

Police said that on July 20 at about noon, Wright allegedly approached a 10-year old boy and lured him into the nearby woods and sexually assaulted him. The boy was able to wrest himself away from Wright and ran to a passerby, who then called the police.

Wright was in custody for another crime when police obtained a warrant for his arrest yesterday, police said.

Hartford Police Arrest Three Men, Seize Drug


HARTFORD — City police seized a substantial amount of marijuana, heroin and firearms and arrested three men yesterday,

Police on Thursday arrested the first two men Allardyce, 44, of Adelaide St., Hartford, and Mark Williams, 42, of Cannon Rd., East Hartford and charged for possession with intent to sell, possession with intent to sell within 1,500 feet of a school, and possession of a controlled substance.

The arrests were made 56 Sterling St. and 216 Homestead Ave., following surveillance in which detectives observed what appeared to be drug transactions, police said.

Further investigation resulted in the seizure of over 31 pounds of marijuana and $49,000. Also found Friday morning were

A .32 Caliber Intrac Arms Pistol with 10 live rounds
A Colt .32 Caliber Pistol with 8 live rounds
A .357 Caliber Pistol with 6 live rounds
A 12 Gauge Shotgun

Miscellaneous Drug Paraphernalia
$315.00 in U.S. Currency

As a result on Friday, Davron Nevers, 42, of 593 Zion St., Hartford, was arrested and charged with criminal possession of a firearm, theft of a firearm, possession of narcotics, possession of narcotics with intent to sell, and possession of narcotics with intent to sell within 1,500 feet of a school, and operating a drug factory.
