HARTFORD — Hartford detectives are seeking help in identifying two men who allegedly robbed a 74-year-old woman at a bank on Bluehills Ave.

Police said on Aug. 8 at 9: 30 a.m., they responded to the Bank of America at 701 Blue Hills Ave. after a report of an armed robbery.

The 74-year-old female victim said the two suspects pulled a gun on her as she was exiting the ATM. They robbed her at gun point of her gold chain with a cross pendant and $20, police said.

Police described one suspect as a black male, 20-30 years old, 160lbs with black hair and dark complexion. He was wearing a black hooded sweat shirt and black jeans and was armed with a black revolver with a brown handle.

The second suspect is a black male, 20-30 years old, 5 feet, 8 inches and weighs about 190. He was wearing a black t-shirt and black jeans. (See picture below).

HARTFORD — Police are crediting the work of a K-9 dog for helping them disrupt an alleged robbery and assault yesterday at the corner of Albany Ave.  and Main St.

Police gave the report as such:

At 9:16 p.m. Hartford Police K-9 Officer Matthew Labbe and his K-9 partner, Ike, were on patrol in the area of Albany Ave. and Main St. when they observed three men assaulting a man. As Officer Labbe exited his vehicle, the three men fled, discarding a box cutter, and the victim later identified as a 45 year old City resident, yelled that he had just been robbed by the three men, police said.

Officer Labbe repeated yelled for the men to stop running or he would send the dog. However, the fleeing suspects ignored his verbal command and ran through the yards onto Belden St. As one of the men tried to scale a fence, Officer Labbe and his K-9 partner apprehended him, police said.

 The man later identified as Thomas Curtis, 20, of 228 Mather St. received several K-9 bites as he resisted arrest. He was provided medical attention on scene and transported to Hartford Hospital for further observation. He was subsequently released from the hospital and charged with Robbery 1st Degree, and Interfering with Police.

Curtis also had an outstanding warrant for an outstanding Assault 3rd Degree and a Breach of Peace in the 2nd Degree complaint. His  bonds total $55,000.00.

The victim who fought back during the robbery avoided being cut by the box cutter, police said.

Ike is one of two Patrol K-9’s on the Hartford Police Department. He is a three year old German Shepherd who has been certified by the Connecticut State Police Canine Unit since May 2008 as a patrol dog.

The investigation is on-going. HARTFORD — Hartford Police Detectives today released a secured video of an armed robbery that occurred at the ATM of the Webster Bank on Franklin Avenue.

On Jan. 7th, the victim attempted to use the ATM machince at 324 Franklin Ave. when the suspect approached from behind and at gun point forced him to withdraw $500 from his account, police said. 

Police said that the suspect fled on foot west on Bushnell Street then north on Adelaide.  State and Hartford Police conducted a canvass and K-9 track unsuccessfully.  The suspect’s trail was lost in the 100 block of Adelaide Street. 

The clear video of the incident was obtained by detectives from bank officials and is now being released in an effort to gain the community’s assistance in identifying the suspect.

Described as an Hispanic male, 5′9″ to 5′11″, in his late teen to early twenties with a thin build, the suspect was last seen wearing a black zippered hoodie with the word “Rocawear” in white letters across the right sleeve.  The jacket also had a diamond shaped emblem on the right chest.  He was wearing faded black or gray jeans, shoes with white on the toe, a black neoprene mask, and was in possession of a gray pistol type firearm.
