Author Shares Tips for Better Life

SOUTHPORT — Are we all really living our lives or merely going through the motions? What if we all lived our lives as if anything was possible? As if everything was possible? These are just some of the questions answered in “I am my own Dragon”, a new novel, by Linda C. Thompson.

Thompson is a writer, actor, singer, and owner of a world renown business consulting firm in the state. She offers eight tips to leading a better life.

  1. Want to change. The ability to create your own happily ever after is already there. You just need to find the power within to make it happen.
  2. Visualize the changes you want as if they are already there, already in your life. Imagine in great detail the life you really want.
  3. Make a list of 2 to 5 steps you can take to picture what you imagine. Be brutally honest with yourself when creating this list – do NOT self-censor – you must acknowledge it before you can change it.
  4. Make another list of 2 to 5 steps based on the above. Think of one tiny step you can take to make the changes happen. It can be as simple as taking a new route to work.
  5. Focus on the future. Leave the past behind. Really focus on where you are going.
  6. Write your affirmation to help that come true. I am an evolved human being abundant in _________________ (i.e. health, wealth, friendship, business, etc.)
  7. Look in the mirror and say it to yourself 50 times a day, but remember, you must look in the mirror.
  8. Stand back and allow yourself to be amazed!

Thompson, in her novel, tells a story of hope, transformation, and inspiration and like the dragon on the cover, the story of adversity and redemption not only takes readers on a voyage of self discovery and self absolution, but teaches us how to identify our roadblocks, overcome them, and soar to the life we were meant to live.

Thompson grew up in Beaumont, Texas, and now lives in Southport, Connecticut, where is at work on her next two books.
